Welcome
Welcome to jamiegough.co.nz – thank you for taking the time to visit!
I am Jamie Gough and I am standing for the Christchurch City Council in the Fendalton/Waimairi Ward.
As your elected Community Board member for the past three years, I’m well aware of the issues we face – what sets me apart is how I address them.
I have spent the past three years getting your voice heard and issues aired. You have never needed to remind me that it was you who put me there. It’s been a privilege to serve you and I’m hungry for more. I don’t just see you as Council’s customer, but the owner.
This website is not so much about me, but about you. My aim is to give you the information you require to cast an informed vote and positively affect the future of Christchurch.
You can find out more about me on the (conveniently named) about page, read my blog posts on the blog page, view photos on the images page, hear my take on certain relevant (and some irrelevant!) topics on the videos page, ask me something that you are interested to know more about on the q&a page, touch base at any time from the details provided on the contact page and most importantly, offer your views and opinions on the your say page.
While I bring an energetic and fresh thinking approach with my local government and commercial experience, my absolute focus is to have you enabled by Council, not stifled. We have so many talented and outstanding people around us in our city, I believe it is imperative we embrace this and find ways to implement your great ideas for the benefit of all of us as a city. I’m not interested in why things can’t happen – I’m committed to finding ways they can.
My commitment is to encourage forward thinking, reward go-getters, support strong communities, preserve our heritage and involve you in open decision-making. I’m excited to be helping build a vibrant, safer and more prosperous Christchurch for you, your family and your community.
I’m proud to be selected and endorsed by Independent Citizens as both their Community Board and City Council candidate for the Fendalton/Waimairi Ward, but it’s your backing I really need.
Make your vote count – a vote for Jamie Gough is a vote for the future
